According to a study performed by idealista.com, apartments sold by banks are generally more expensive than those sold by agencies or directly. However, they are perceived to be a bargain in comparison to others sold by real estate agencies.

The study was performed by analyzing 50 banks, cajas and foreign banks which are responsible of real estate assets.

By comparing the prices, the study revealed that in 61% of the cases, it was cheaper to buy from real estate agencies than from banks. The prices for apartments sold by banks are an average 12% higher.
