The European Hotel Industry Reports are Encouraging

The hotel industry reports are positive.

Figures show that September 2010 was the busiest month in hotels around Europe, not surprising as September is a great month for tourists (not too hot, not too cold, just perfect). With an occupancy of 74.8% and a revenue per available room at 79.78 Euros, we can say the September looked pretty good in terms of hotel management.

Prague and Istanbul reported the highest increase in occupancy from laster year, reportedly from 60.4% in 2009 to 80.0$ (Prague). Istanbul reported a 19.8-percent increase to 81.4 percent.

Spain reported an occupancy of 71.9%, an increase of 2.4% from September 2009. Also, Spain is situated in the top 5 couuntries according to occupancy, after the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy.

This level of occupancy in Spain can be translated into revenues not only for the Spanish hotels, but also for the tourist areas that are still popular despite the economic distress. With a mix of history, sun, beaches, golf and culture, Spain is still one of the most important tourist destinations in Europe.
