The current secretary general of the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT), Ramon Estalella, has been elected to the executive committee of the European Business Organization Hotels, Restaurants and cafes (HOTREC) for a period of two years. Estalella’s election strengthens the weight of Spanish hotel sector in Europe and confirms the competitiveness and the perceived strength of this industry from the outside, as the employer said yesterday in a note given by the agency Europa Press. This is the fourth time that a representative of Spain is part of the council.

Estalella is currently the secretary general of the CEHAT since 2003, and the secretary of the Foundation CEHAT, is also general secretary of Hotel Technology Institute (THI) since its inception, advisor to the Spanish Tourism Quality Institute (ICTE) and member Tourism Council of the CEOE.

HOTREC is responsible for representing the hospitality industry at different levels of the EU.
