The project will amount to approximately EUR 230 million. It will feature 200 rooms, a spa and beautiful garden. The total surface is 13,341 sqm and with 32 428  sqm for residential housing. The project and hotel will help build 600 permanent jobs.

The investing company is from Denmark and the head of the company, Jesper Brinkmann, said that the initial urban problems are fully resolved, so that once the 6 monthts necessary for project planning are finished, work can begin immediately with an execution term of two years. This means that by 2013 Bahia Fenicia will open and will be the first seven star hotel in Spain and the second of its kind in Europe.

The Danish ambassador in Spain was present at the presentation and said that this project will involve a significant investment. According to him, “The Danes are in love with this coast and I am sure you will love to come to a place like this for long-stay”.

Although the design is not yet fully defined , ” it is an integrated complex in the landscape, very respectful of the environment and especially beautiful”.

The mayor of the city concluded that this project will position Almuñécar alongside one of the most exclusive destinations in Europe.
