The Spanish Construction Industry is in decline

The productin of the Spanish construction industry has collapsed in July. According to the European statistical office Eurostat, Spain recorded the largest annual decline in the euro zone, with 36.5% less activity in July 2009, five times above the average which stood at 7.5 %. Output fell on average by 3.1% compared to June. Meanwhile, in Spain the decline has reached 10.3%.the Spanish construction industry drops

Spain was well placed at the bottom list, followed only by Romania, with an annual fall of 24.9%, and Bulgaria (-19%).Only Britain, Sweden, Germany and Poland have seen growth in the construction industry from last year.

These data contrast with those for the month of June, when all the Eurozone experienced a strong rebound in the sector and our country stood at the forefront of that growth.
