Having a roommate: a growing trend in Spain

The people who share apartments in Spain are young, with an average age of 28 years. They don’t smoke and don’t have pets. The average price per room that they pay is 334 Euros. The request for sharing apartments has grown with an average 70%, according to data issued by real estate portal idealista.com

Last year, the offer of flat-sharing was counted to 4.621. This year, the offer has grown to a stunning 7.889 requests for flat mates. The majority of these requests are for apartments situated in the center of big cities. The price have decreased a bit, reaching an average rental price of 334 Euros. Barcelona has the highest rent price, 359 euros, followed by Madrid.
