Hotel managers from across Costa del sol have confirmed that the summer will end with a higher occupancy rate than the same period of last year. The first two weeks of the months have confirmed the ascendant trend registered this spring. According to José Carlos Escribano, the president of Association of Costa del  Sol Hotel Companies, August will register a higher occupancy rate than the month of August 2009. The month of August is considered to be the busiest in the tourism business.

However, Escribano was cautious and didn’t mention any numbers, because usually the last week of August sees a decrease in occupancy. He mentioned also the air traffic controllers’ strike threat. The hotels are now preocupied in attracting more tourists, even though they’re facing the air traffic controllers’ strike and economic crisis.
