The construction of houses falls to 90.000 in 2010

The construction will continue to fall until 2013 because of the blockage of investments in new infrastructures. This segment had been compensating for the fall of the construction of houses.

The report says that the construction sector is expected to fall by 17.7% in 2010, up 4.7% in 2011 and 0.1% in 2012, compared to a European context that will back up 4% this year, but in 2011 and expects to grow by 1.2% and 2.4% in 2012.

These decreases are added to the 18,9% drop 2008 and 26,1% in 2009, implying that the industry back to production levels of more than a decade.

This year the construction of houses has fallen to a minimum of 90 000 units compared to the maximum registered 4 years ago when 850 000 houses were built.
